Recently trending is the controversy of the value of ‘Naira’ compared to Dollars and other foreign currencies.
A Twitter user, Ugwunna Ejikem has taken to his page to give analysis of value of the Nigeria currency in comparison to other countries.
Ugwunna have a list of items that can be bought with dollars, pounds and cedies; such that cannot be purchased in Nigeria based on currency value.
In his tweet, he wrote:
- You can buy a dress for 5 pounds.
- You can buy a good Mp3 player for 5 US dollars.
- You can buy two bottles of water for 5 Ghanaian cedis.
You cannot buy anything for 5 naira…not even satchet water.
THE NAIRA IS USELESS!
