Michelle Obama sits down with husband for 1st episode of new podcast

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Michelle Obama is kicking off her Spotify podcast Wednesday, and her first episode will feature her husband, former President of the United States, Barack Obama.

In the Michelle Obama Podcast, Michelle is joined by the people she’s closest to and discusses topics she’s passionate about.

The former first lady of the United States announcing the first episode wrote on IG:

“I’m so excited to kick off my podcast on Wednesday (29 July) —with Barack as my very first guest! We’ll be talking about our connections to our communities, particularly what our responsibilities are in this current moment. Throughout this first season, I’ll be having more conversations like this one with the people closest to me. My mother and brother stop by, as does my friend and mentor, Valerie Jarrett.

“You’ll also hear from many of my girlfriends, the women who’ve always been there with a shoulder to lean on, a perspective to think about, or simply an open line to vent to. In this time of social distancing, it’s more important than ever to invest in the relationships that make us who we are. And I hope the #MichelleObamaPodcast can be a place for you all to dig deeper inside your own lives and relationships, and start up some of these conversations with one another as well.”

In another social media post introducing her chat with her husband, former President Barack Obama shared an image of the recording. “Michelle and I have spent a lot of time together these past few months. We’ve had a lot of good talks—and this one’s up there with the best. Take a listen to the very first episode of Michelle’s podcast.” the tweet reads.
