Three new coronavirus symptoms added to official list – including runny nose

Nausea, diarrhea and a runny nose have been added to the growing list of coronavirus symptoms, The US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) confirmed.

The new symptoms are likely to appear between two to 14 days after exposure to the virus.

The CDC reports that anyone with the following symptoms may have COVID-19:

  • Fever or chills
  • A cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhoea

The US federal department also warned: “Older adults and people who have severe underlying medical conditions like heart or lung disease or diabetes seem to be at higher risk for developing more serious complications from COVID-19 illness.”
